TD-SCDMA Update

- According to Xinhua PR Newswire, RDA Microelectronics has released the first dual-mode TD-SCDMA/GSM RF (Radio Frequency) chip that supports HSDPA data transmission. Coded RDA8206, RDA's dual-mode RF chip is manufactured using the CMOS (Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor) process technology and has been verified by major baseband suppliers.
- Microsoft and China's Amoisonic have signed a memorandum of understanding to join hands in the development of Smartphones and TD-SCDMA phones. Microsoft will provide a development platform supporting the 3G mobile communications standards of WCDMA, CDMA2000, and TD-SCDMA. Amoisonic is expected to focus on TD-SCDMA in this joint project.
